Writing something down almost always makes me vow to do it. Without a real sense of urgency (e.g. I have to schedule an eye appointment or else I’m stuck wearing glasses from three prescriptions ago) or a deadline (e.g. today is the last day to return this book) I can put off a project until it makes more sense time wise. These days with a baby and a toddler, I never find myself with nothing better to do and think, time to start an herb garden or might as well wallpaper the bathroom.
My lofty future log, to be accomplished someday:
- Plant wildflowers for Frances
- Grow an herb garden (parsley, basil, dill, chives)
- Donate books
- Learn natural dyeing techniques (for linen and cotton)
- Make the egg raviolo from Osteria Mozza
- Regular book club with my sister
- Hand dip beeswax candles
- Another quilt for Frances’ bed
- Bake both of my children’s birthday cakes
- Forage for materials and make wreath this Christmas
- Design a custom house with Caleb
This list is ongoing and will be updated over the years.
